Department of Pathology in Guangdong Medical College

   Department of Pathology in Guangdong Medical College (GDMC), now one of the key departments and cancer research units in the college , was established in 1958. GDMC, authorized to confer bachelor and master degrees, enrolls, from Guangdong province five-year undergraduates majoring in Clinical Medicine, Medical Laboratory Procedures, Medical Imaging, and Anaesthesiology; it also enrolls graduate students from all over the country in 11 branches of medical sciences. Pathological Department is involved to offer the courses of Pathology and Tumor Pathology for all those students.

   Except teaching, another major work in our department is Cancer Research, which is including the tumor metastasis, Epstein-Barr Virus and nasopharyngeal carcinoma, telomerase and tumor, Radio therapeutics of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, clinical pathological diagnosis, et al. We have published more than 360 papers , among which more than 40 obtained scientific and technological achievement awards by the state, province and city.

   Department of Pathology has a group of high-quality teachers as faculty for teaching, scientific research and medical diagnosis. We have 17 teachers, among whom 6 are professors and 4 associate professors, 7 lecturers . Meanwhile, the department has invited many foreign experts and scholars to teach and give lectures. Academic exchanges have been undertaken in many fields and at different levels.
